Mid Afternoon/Early Evening Bar Tour – Northern Quarter Area of Manchester
Overview
Join us for a sociable Bar Tour in the Northern Quarter area of Manchester. Whether new to Spice or an old hand you will be made very welcome.
The bars chosen have been picked for their ambience and ales!
Additionally this bar tour is dog friendly and our lovely host Tanya will be taking her gorgeous sheepdog Ozzy with her.
- The Rose & Monkey - beginning its life way back in the late 1700s - a loom builder worked on the site, while a coffin maker was busy downstairs. It changed to a public house in 1843 and to this day is very much a traditional pub serving real ales etc – a fascinating building with a lifetime of history & heritage.
- The Smithfield Market Tavern - serving six ever changing cask ales, including always one or two Blackjack Brewery beers & CAMRA Cider Pub of the Year.
- Common - Along with 10 beer lines, they stock both house and natural wines, as well as a much-loved cocktail menu and extensive spirit selection.
- The Bay Horse Tavern - a modern take on a Victorian Pub, a home away from home to relax in warm and comfortable surroundings with a vast range of gins, craft beers and other libations.

We will meet up in the first bar and then go together in smaller groups to the bars as below
2.30pm – 3.30pm Rose & Monkey, 31 Swan St M4 5JZ
3.30pm – 4.30pm Smithfield Market Tavern, 37 Swan St
4.30pm – 5.30pm Common, 39-41 Edge St
5.30pm onwards The Bay Horse Tavern, 35 - 37 Thomas Street with dining booked for 6.30pm
