Overview

This Christmas we are thrilled to be returning to the Double Tree Hotel by Hilton in Islington, North London where we spent fabulous Christmas breaks in 2016 and 2018.. This fabulous 4 star hotel, is situated just 5 minutes walk from Angel Tube Station and a 15 minute walk from both Kings Cross and St Pancras Railway stations allowing easy transport options. And for those in search of retail therapy, the hotel is just steps from a variety of shops and speciality boutiques.

Arrive anytime on Christmas Eve when you are free to explore the lively surrounding areas full of restaurants and bars and then we’ll meet up in the hotel bar before going for our dinner, a 3 course meal at the delightful Marco Pierre White Steak House & Grill within the hotel.

After dinner if you have the energy (we all know how tiring the run up to Christmas can be) we have a few options to choose from, including Christmas Eve late night mass, or we can venture out in search of a local hostelry, though generally people like to take time to get to know their fellow guests and partake in the Mulled Wine & Mince Pies once our meal has gone down.

Christmas day will comprise of a lazy breakfast and a local area walkabout, Secret Santa (please allow for a present valued around £10 ) or just a bit of time to relax before we partake in our 3 course Christmas Lunch.

For those who have room left, we will be served a light evening buffet before we have the option to take part in board games or just socialise with our Spice friends old & new. If we are lucky we may even find a local pub open for some Christmas Spirit!

On Boxing day after breakfast you can join in our Treasure Hunt, a great way to familiarise yourself with the area. Alternatively, you can enjoy some retail therapy or simply just take the time to explore the city more. In the evening we sit down to our 3 course meal in the Marco Pierre White Steak House & Grill.

On the final day we will enjoy a buffet breakfast before saying our farewell to both the hotel and our fellow Spicers.

Anyone who has been on one of our Christmas Breaks will know how well the DoubleTree chain of hotels look after us and of course you will also be aware of how lovely it can be spending your Christmas with a great group of like minded Spicers - a Christmas full of friendship and festive cheer!

Please note: the balance due date on this event differs to our standard Overnight Events cancellation policy. The balance is due on 31st October 2024 after which we are only able to make refunds in accordance with our cancellation policy if we manage to sell all contracted places on and replace your booking.

Early Bird Pricing: this event is on early bird pricing. The price will increase by £30 per person from 21st October 2024 so for the best price please book prior to that.

Our inclusive meals will be served in the onsite Marco Pierre White Steakhouse offering gourmet British cuisine from the world-famous chef. Marco's cuisine is uniquely recognizable through his art of cooking British cuisine using French techniques.

Travel & Stay

The Doubletree by Hilton provides for a comfortable stay in contemporary surroundings. All bedrooms are air-conditioned and have flat screen televisions, complimentary WiFi access throughout the hotel, an array of satellite & digital channels, complimentary tea & coffee making facilities. All bathrooms have walk in power showers over baths, mist free mirrors & hairdryers. Bar 60 is available to relax in serving an array of drinks with a fine selection of gins.

You can arrive anytime on Christmas Eve - the rooms will be ready for 3pm. However, if you arrive earlier and your room is ready, you will be free to check in and if not, the concierge will be more than happy to look after your luggage for you.
