Continuing our series of dining out on the east side of London, join us for dinner at Provender Restaurant in Wanstead.
This small, independent restaurant has been serving high quality French cuisine for many years, having evolved from an all-day cafe bistro to a fully-fledged restaurant. Focussing on "exceptional ingredients and expert cooking", the English co-owner/chef says that his mission is "to cook French food better than the French". The other co-owner/ Maitre D' is French.
The menu includes meat, fish and vegetarian options. And snails.

Starters are £5-£11, Mains are £15-£30 and Sides are £3-£5. Desserts are £8-£12
They have a range of bottled beers, cider, wines (all French), aperitifs, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks.
On the night you just pay for your own food, drinks and the relevant service charge. The restaurant accepts cash and card.

Provender Restaurant is an 8 minute walk from Wanstead station or a 3 minute walk from Snaresbrook station (both Central line).
If driving, the car park in Grove Park is free after 5pm or you may find a space on the nearby residential streets.
