Overview

The Isle of Anglesey long walking weekend offers something very different. It has a vibrant town with an impressive North Wales castle but nips over to Anglesey to get the very best walking the island has to offer. With walks taken from the north and east of the island it combines rugged cliffs and fine coastal walking but also has the long sandy beaches and dunes with a little causeway and islets used by the monks in bygone times.

Location & Itinerary

This area is fascinating for all walkers and with three magnificent walking days ahead we are truly blessed. Leaving from the UK’s longest harbour wall one day will be spent on some gorgeous cliff sections as we tackle the South Stacks Cliffs around Gogarth Bay and make our way from there along the Isle of Anglesey coastal path towards Trearddur for some refreshment. This walk has some stunning light houses and we can check in at the seabird centre with its lovely café enroute. Another day is the dunes and beach day where we will experience everything the sea has to offer up close and personal. This walk is made to the back-drop of the Snowdonia Nationa Park across the sea vistas.  A final walk will be chosen closer to the time but will probably also be spent on the island and encompass similarly impressive coastal walking combining the best of the last two days but in a different area.

Remember, as always, to allow you to choose a walk that suits you best, WalkWise UK will provide a minimum of two walks on each day, led by professional and knowledgeable walking guides. On each day there will be a minimum of a faster and harder walk of 10-12 miles with 2500+ft of ascent and a gentler walk of 8-9 miles with less ascent. Please be a realistic about your fitness to ensure you join the correct walk.
