Edinburgh Literary Pub Tour
Overview
The Edinburgh Literary Pub Tour combines literary history with drinking. Led by a professional group of actors this is an entertaining, witty and dramatic romp through the life and work of Scotland’s great poets and novelists from the early 18th century to the present day (Burns, Scott, Stevenson, Spark, Welsh and many more). Performed in and out of Edinburgh’s famous taverns and ‘howffs’, the tour takes the form of an impassioned debate between two fictional characters, Clart (as in muck!) and McBrain. A great night out – PLEASE BOOK EARLY!
Location & Itinerary
We meet at the historic Beehive Inn in the Grassmarket (please arrive at 7.10 p.m. prompt) and then follow a route past the Martyr’s Cross, the site of the old gallows, through the winding streets, wynds and courtyards of the Old Town, over the Mound and down to Rose Street in the New Town
