Walk The West Highland Way - Section 8 - Kings House to Kinlochleven
Overview
On a clear day, this is perhaps the most dramatic section of the West Highland Way as it climbs to the highest point on the route with fabulous views of the Glencoe mountains. The high level mountain section can be exposed in poor weather but the long descent, with excellent views, to Kinlochleven is easy to follow. Kinlochleven has all services, including hostel and camping, and the Ice Factor climbing centre.
Easy to follow path but stony and rough in places, steep climb from Glencoe, then undulating section of exposed moorland, followed by a long descent on stony tracks to Kinlochleven.
Location & Itinerary
You need to have some walking fitness but the great thing about the West Highland Way is it builds as you go. The latter sections are harder but you'll be in the best condition to conquer them. Call Jamie in the Spice Scotland office if you want to chat through it.
We will meet at 10am at Kinlochleven and shuttle cars to the start at Kings House.
