Hagley Hall Guided Tour with Tea & Cake
Overview
Spice have enjoyed a popular series of tours of great country houses and estates.
Today we have arranged a special tour of Hagley Hall with one of their experienced guides.
On arrival we will all enjoy coffee/tea/cake and we will then meet our guide, who will take us on a private tour, 45 - 60 minutes, and give us a full history of the Hall and some of their stories!
We can then make time to visit St John’s church, which is situated at the rear of the house, this is a lovely finish and has strong family links.
About Hagley Hall: Designed in the 18th Century by Sanderson Miller, for George, first Lord Lyttleton, Hagley Hall was the last of the great Palladian houses to be commissioned. It remains the family home of the Lyttleton family. The house, begun in 1754 and completed in 1760, was built to grace the existing park, with its follies, lakes and magnificent trees, set amidst rolling hills. There are outstanding views to Worcestershire, bounded by the Malverns to the south and the Clee Hills to the south west.
The interior contains a distinguished collection of 18th century furniture and family portraits including works by Batoni and Lely and has some of the finest examples of Italian plasterwork. Hagley Hall has been a family home and an integral part of the local community for 250 years.

Host & Everything Else
- I enjoyed the tour very much. The experienced guide added snippets of history. The experience was good value for money and like all the spice events was made more enjoyable by the friendly nature and banter of both the coordinator and other members.
- Another excellent Spice event. The guide was most welcoming, informative and entertaining. He brought the history of the hall and his colourful ancestors to life. The event was value for money and I enjoyed our tea and cake after the tour. I would certainly recommend it to others.
- Even though i only live 10 mins away, I have never been to Hagley Hall before. I love history and I really enjoyed everything about this event.
- Really enjoyed this event, a lovely house and host! This has inspired me to look at the other tours like this
